Biography

“Robert Kirkman”

“Writer of the new US wave, Robert Kirkman appeared on the comics scene in 2000 with “Battle Pope”, an iconoclastic series made with the cartoonist Tony Moore. A few months later there will be a mini-series starring SuperPatriot, a character appearing in the pages of Savage Dragon: the hero created by Erik Larsen. On the other hand with “Invincible” (2002) – designed by Cory Walker – it is made known to the general public, imagining a character who appears as the Spider Man of the twenty-first century. Noted by major publishing houses, he has also worked on Marvel Team-Up, Ant-Man, Marvel Zombies and Ultimate X-Men.

In 2003, shortly after the launch of the series “Invincible”, Robert Kirkman worked with Tony Moore on a new series project: “The Walking Dead”. In 2010, it is one of the best-selling graphic novels in the United States. A success that owes in particular to the adaptation of comics in television series. He thus connects audiences with novels (written with Jay Bonansinga) that extend and develop the world of comics. Success is also at the rendezvous for his series “The Astounding Wolf-Man” (2007-2010) or “Haunt” (2009-2012). At the same time, he created a “Kirkmanverse” where his fantastic and super-heroic characters met (Wolf-Man and Invincible in particular).

On July 19, 2010, he announced the launch of Skybound, a collection of comics published at Image Comics, which he will direct. It is in this collection that he is preparing to publish in August 2011 the sci-fi series “The Infinite”, in collaboration with Rob Liefeld. His attachment to the world of comics earned him to name his son, born April 25, 2006, “Peter Parker”, the official identity of Spider-Man.”
