♦ Description : “First there is Yvan, 9, the funny artist and downright cowardly. Then there is Leila, 12, the boyish energetic and optimistic. Then come Camille, 8 years old, the naive generous and moralizing and Terry, 5 years and a half, the child turbulent and endearing. And then, there is also Dodji, 10 years old, the big-hearted bear. These five children wake up one morning and find that all the inhabitants of the city have mysteriously disappeared. What happened ? Where are their relatives and friends? They find themselves left in a big empty city and will have to learn how to manage … ALONE!”
“Bruno Gazzotti – is an author and cartoonist. After studying art at the Saint-Luc institute in Liège, he quickly turned to comics and, in 1988, he became a “little hand” at Dupuis publishing, doing small jobs, animation pages and headings. He becomes assistant of “Tome and Janry” for the series “The Little Spirou”.
In 1990, Tome proposes to him to take again the series “Soda” that he scriptures and that stopped illustrating the draftsman Luc Warnant. The albums of this dark and complex hero succeed each other until 2005, meeting a great public success. After an absence of almost 10 years, Dan Verlinden takes over as draftsman of the series for a thirteenth volume.
In January 2006, the first episode of a new science fiction series was released in collaboration with screenwriter Fabien Vehlmann: “Only”. This one meets a big critical and public success and is adapted to the cinema in 2017. In 2007, he obtains the 9-12 years Youth Prize of the festival of Angoulême for “Only, volume 1″ (with Fabien Vehlmann).”
“Fabien Vehlmann – is a comic writer. He studied management at the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce in Nantes.
In 1996, he participated in a scenario competition in Spirou magazine, but was eliminated from the draw because it does not respect the format of rigor. Despite this blow of fate, Fabien does not weaken and sends tons of scenarios to the magazine before being finally accepted a year later.
In 1998, he starts the series “Green Manor”, put in images by Denis Bodart. This one and the series “Only” (2006), drawn by Bruno Gazzotti and who wins the Youth Prize of the festival of Angoulême 2007, contribute to make it known and to lead it to script Spirou and Fantasio. “Only” meets a great critical and public success and is adapted to cinema in 2017.
His bibliography includes forty albums including the “Marquis d’Anaon”, designed by Matthieu Bonhomme and “I.A.N.”, a series on the theme of artificial intelligence, drawn by Ralph Meyer and published in four volumes at Dargaud. He inaugurates new collections as an adventure of Spirou and Fantasio by … drawn by Yoann in 2006 at Dupuis and the first volume of the series “Seven” at Delcourt.
In 2006, with Yoann, he inaugurated the collection “An adventure of Spirou and Fantasio by …” realizing “The Petrified Giants”, a Hewlettian version of Spirou. Then in 2009, Vehlmann and Yoann are finally chosen as the official team of the regular series of Spirou and Fantasio to replace the duo Morvan / Munuera. Volume 51, “Alerte aux Zorkons” is released in September 2010.
He is, along with Gwen de Bonneval, Brüno, Cyril Pedrosa and Hervé Tanquerelle, one of the founders of the digital comic book “Professor Cyclope”. In 2016, with his wife Géraldine Courbe, the couple welcomed under his roof Fodé, a young Guinean. He mediatized this story in January 2018 when the French administration refused his application for a residence permit.”
